This past week we spent an overnight at the Grand Georgian
We went to celebrate my Daughter and Granddaughter's birthdays
They share the same day
Yes indeed we planned that!
The original Village hotel property fashioned after a historic railway lodge, with large welcoming covered entrance and beautiful open lobby with hearth room.
I kept pinching myself
From the view from our lovely lodge-style penthouse apartment
to the festive holiday atmosphere throughout the village
I thought: Is this really Canada?
It seems so European
Something out of a hit holiday film
So magical and wintry - bursting with old world charm
What is a Canadian birthday celebration without poutine and fries?
These few images above were shot from our balcony suite!
In the center square people gathered to hear carolers
ride in horse drawn wagon rides
warm their hands by the massive fire pit
The view from our living room directly outside our window
While lounging on the sofa in front of a crackling fireplace
Christmas movies on the flat screen
Food galore!
Do you think we were lucky?
I do!
I am filled with gratitude to be Canadian
and living in such a gorgeous, peaceful country
My thoughts DO NOT forget those around the world who are suffering.
It was a lovely night strolling through the shops and food huts
but my new scarf (Hanukkah inspired) knit by Mom
was definitely needed....
Most appreciated and loved!
Happy Days for certain!
Love to all
