How Film Informs Patti Friday

It is not always clear how or why an Artist is inspired
How her current works are informed

Soon a hint reveals the possible truth behind the creation

Indeed books, films, current events, popular culture
and personal life experiences are culprits

I believe these two men are sheer other-worldly geniuses

and

The Revenant has gotten inside me and won't let go

Every hike I take this winter reminds me of this film.

Every sound in the forest or beside the rivers, streams and lakes.
It informs me.

What informs your work?

“Inspired by true events,
is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer
is brutally attacked by a bear and
left for dead by members of his own hunting team.

In a quest to survive,

Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant
John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy)
Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.
The Revenant
is directed and co-written by renowned filmmaker,
Oscar winner
Alejandro G. Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel).

(This horse. This horse has an immensely important purpose - not just
to be a gorgeous, loyal animal - a mode of transportation
- but.......you will have to see the movie.)

I hope this movie wins all the awards it is
nominated for at this year's Oscars.
