Trade Offs

A wise friend once told me that life was full of 'trade-offs'. Meaning, you seriously can not believe that you get everything without losing something else. It's the balancing law of the universe. You get some, you lose some. What shall you choose?  You can't have both. You can have the money, but you could lose a dear person in the choosing. You can have the 'stuff', but must decide what value the relationship that you are about to sacrifice has. We work hard we sleep less.  We pick one human over an other. We choose lust over loyalty. We choose lies over truth. We choose fear instead of courage. We choose bondage over freedom.  We eat while others starve. We drink while others thirst. We choose the shore over the sea. We let go of someone's hand and an another takes it. It all comes out in the wash. The almighty and powerful balancing power of 'trade-offs'. What have you gained and what have you lost?
