Eat Mexico Culinary Tours

Eat Mexico is the only tourism company in Mexico City offering tours of the city’s street food and markets. Customers can choose from six routes: Tacos, Markets, Street Food, Street Food & Mezcal, Mexican Wine, Pulque & Mezcal or Market Visit & Cooking Class. Most tours run 4 to 5 hours long, and they’re designed for small groups of 1 to 5 people. Each tour is given by a bilingual, local guide.

Eat Mexico’s goal is to teach customers the true flavors of Mexico, which, contrary to popular belief, do not involve blankets of melted cheese and pools of lard. Their customers taste freshly prepared foods from stands and fondas across Mexico City — and they learn about how each item is prepared, its history, and its importance and role in local culture. By the end of their tours, their clients are full and happy, and they’ve learned something they can share with their friends back home.

Eat Mexico has served hundreds of tourists from all over the world. They’re also on Facebook, Twitter and Trip Advisor.

The business was founded in July 2010 by Lesley Téllez, an American expat based in Mexico City, and Jesica López Sol, a chilanga who moved to Mexico City when she was nine years old. Lesley is currently Eat Mexico’s sole owner and executive director. If you’d like to ask Lesley a question, email lesley@eatmexico.com.
