Baby's Breath
the little chest lifts and lowers
I watch it in the darkness
tiny puffs; whispers of air
it's that baby's breath
that shows you care
the smallest fingers move and stretch
I wonder their deeds
tiny nails; transparent pink
it's that baby's breath
that makes me think
the softest woven blanket
I wish you'd uncover our love
unveil her face; show them surely
it's that baby's breath
that proves us curly
the tears of no life
I cry in fifth memory
only needing to make things right
there's no baby's breath
and you won't hold me tight
