This is an inferno. This my dearest friends was the home of my family. My youngest Son.
I want you to know that although no people died or were injured in this fire, my Son's beloved dog 'Lucy' and his handsome cat 'Charlie Brown' perished in the blaze.
And everything my Son and his Father owned, needed and treasured was completely lost.
The fire was an accidental tragedy.
Our entire family has had a sad week but my Son has had the worst week.
The Firefighters in Wasaga Beach are absolutely warrior angels but there was nothing they could do to save the home and pets once they arrived...literally minutes after the fire ignited.
With the vicious high winds whipping off Georgian Bay that night (Nov. 9, 2017) - during a snow squall - the house was fully engulfed once the fire trucks got there.
Our town and its citizens. The community of kind hearts in the entire region is truly amazing.
Friends, it's one thing to see images on television or on our smartphones of families devastated by fires, but it's an entirely different feeling when you experience it first hand.
Having shelter and a 'home' is one of our greatest human needs. When it's gone like this, it places you inside a leaky life raft out on the stormy seas. You don't know what you are going to do. You know you have to carry on, rebuild; you are just not sure where to begin.
And then you realize. It's winter as well.
......and Christmas is just around the corner....and.....I've lost my pets and my family photos.
I will admit to you, I feel awkward writing this post, but it is part of our family's history now and I also want to honor the kindness of a complete stranger who selflessly has gone ahead with a 'Go Fund Me' campaign to help raise a small amount to help. Thank you sweet angel!
So if you want to visit the Go Fund Me page and consider giving (even $1 dollar) that would be so lovely OR if you are not able to donate perhaps you would be so kind as to share the Go Fund Me campaign with your friends and family.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
And Thank GOD for not taking the lives of my family.
You can visit the GO FUND ME campaign HERE.
